in search of the perfect piece of veal to create yet another variation of the schnitzel, we ve sent out a team to new york and followed up on a lead regarding taking us all the way to the vibe alleys of kingston, jamaica. the results are just as confusing as they are satisfying, since it turns out that heat, tranquillity as well as endless traffic jams are all factors accountable for a nice and tender slice of deliciousness. the island s variation of up tempo deep tissue massages, as opposed to the confusingly more laidback style of the new york method both make for a great preparation, and are now served on both sides of this schnitzel before you. as always vinyl only and limited to a number that will most likely serve most of you, but probably not all of you.

the motorcity boys are back with loveit003 a fresh sounding 4 tracker strongly reflecting the diversity of styles found at their parties. lds kicks thing off with 909 to heaven, a jacking and balearic workout with a rootstrax, chicago style bassline keeping the floor hypnotised until the small hours of the morning. snares, kicks & rhodes is a more laid back jam. lazy warm pads and a slow winding sub bass rise and fall intermittently only to be interrupted by a lo-fi distorted bass that snaps you right out of that trance. nico brun opens the flip side with an absolute banger, hazily reminiscent of that 90s warehouse rave. lds and nico brun close the ep with an atmospheric collaboration perfect to start or end the night with. splashy beats keep up the footwork whilst pulsating synth sounds slowly wind together and drop with a beautifully crafted sample thats guaranteed to bring some sexyness back to the dance floor. this ep will definitely be a regular addition to your record bag to spread those warm summer party sounds. bruno farace early support: xdb (echochord / dolly): debut ep? congrats! end monologue is my favourite.

mono junks cult label dum records is back with a new five track various artists ep that again packs a vital punch. he appears himself along with some fellow legends of the scene. first up, morpholgy is a consistent performer who has continued to serve up quality electro since 2009 and here serves up a hot new piece. vector plant is busy and industrial, slick and metallic as it unfolds and burrows deep into your veins. then comes the a2, irwin berg featuring freestyle man (aka finnish moodmusic boss sasse aka klas lindblad) with a track made in 1995 and never released before. this pair worked together and made a cult electro record for sähkö recordigs in 1998 and this one is just as impactful. it is frosty and frazzled, slow motion but high impact and full of distorted lines and heavy drums. next is mr velcro fastener who were the first kings of electro to come out of finland and between 1999 and 2006 were famous all over the world. their brand new cut almost there is a deep one that is riddled with bleeping melodies and has smeared chords bringing a sci-fi feel. then it is mono junks turn to dive into the vaults with an unreleased track from 2005. feeling or destroy is a physical number with crashing hits and snaking, gurgling bass that is dark and dystopian. last of all comes irwin berg with mono junk as new york city survivors. says the dum boss, our unreleased track here was made after the new york city survivors static light cd 2002 and it is a turbo charged track with screwed up grinding bass, icy hi hat rhythms and menace in its grooves.

after a succession of new signings including recloose, tom trago and paul woolford - aus music return to their original roster and roll out another solid 3-track ep from label mainstay huxley who - in a monumental pairing - enlists the help of chicago legend roy davis jr. with a grand total of 8 aus records under his belt including his lauded lp blurred - huxley continues to return with a sound that typifies the label - intricate dance that music that packs power and emotion in equal measures. the rag & bone ep kicks off with do you feel me - a track that seed roy davis jr. and huxley meld moody synths with a tough, rattling low-end. a striking vocal runs over subtle flecks of acid and bending melodies that make for a pensive trip before weapon 3 dials carl craig-esque tension with rough, tribal drums and razor sharp sweeps. the dub of weapon 3 then mellows the tone of the original and rounds off a varied pack of dance floor bombs.

silencio, a new label out of chicago, will debut its first release from new young talent cirqon titled the other side ep. on the a-side, screaming around, makes its presence felt with a beefy bass line that periodically stacks and stutters throughout its progression. this track is impossible to resist. even the most hardened scenester, the type of person who never dances in an effort to look cool, will be forced to cut a rug as they acquiesce to the bombardment of this pleasing beat. peppered throughout with spooky vocals, tempestuous tones and mysterious snippets, it leads you down a path of rhythms that pushes past the point of no return. similar to the first transmissions intentionally broadcast out into our universe for the purpose of contacting intelligent life, the messenger delivers on the b-side with layers of haunting harmonies that unfold over simple, satisfying drums. its steadily driven by scintillating sounds in the form earthbased radio signals that rise and fall, as if bouncing off of orbiting space debris on their journey to the great unknown. this track is best described as a mind-exp.

having previously turned out some refined club tracks for friendly neighbourhood label banoffee pies, christian jay comes to idle hands for his debut solo 12inch. as revealed in our past support of artists such as i.a. bericochea and matt karmil, an appreciation of the finer end of the minimal house and techno spectrum weighs heavy at idle hands hq, and christian embodies everything good about the micro-genre. the stylistic approach on this single is consistent across both tracks, fusing shuffling, 2-step fuelled drum patterns with blissful atmospheric content in a most natural of ways. on 117 this manifests in a more flamboyant end result peppered with playful hi-hat tones and delicate melodic licks, while on contrail the mood is resolutely low-end focused with some choice bass touches in amongst the tightly wound funk of the beat. what makes jay s efforts stand out is their immersive finish, using dexterous doses of dub processing to create a quintessentially bristolian mood while retaining the razor-sharp edges of upfront european minimal. its a tone that speaks to limbering up at the start of the party, or shaking down deep into the morning. that said, we could listen to this all day and night.

correspondant can finally reveal the release of the remixes for man powers debut lp, which was released last year on correspondant. a year in the making, the remix package features artists and friends hand-picked by both jennifer cardini and man power himself. disco halals moscoman remixes the baggy splendour of beilsteiner, creating a rolling and belching extended opus more focused toward the peak time dance floor. hivern discs jmii takes hunting swan and turns it inside out, exploring space with a cerebral, schizophrenic quality. alternatively, pale blue (mike simonetti) takes boys beware and re-imagines it as an aggressive drum workout. completing the package, suade, the artist who also mastered the original album, replaces tens balearic leanings with an idm sensibility, yet still retains the optimism of the original track. all 4 remixes manage to exist as distinct works in their own right, while paying homage to the magpie approach of the original long player.

new years deal - the next chapter in the creme organization ecplise series comes from cosmic garden with three original tracks and one remix from orgue electronique. little is known about cosmic garden other than he is from southern italy and has had two eps out in 2016, one on hotmix and one on cosmic rhythm. he heads out the blocks here with reptilian treant , six minutes of lo-fi deep house that is roomy and atmospheric. lazy synths bring soul and a gentle chatter of claps and hits helps drive it along. rare centaur is also way below the surface but is darker and more celestial, with turbulent bass, frantic claps and angelic chords glowing like a white light at the end of a tunnel. dutch house and electro don orgue electronique then remixes reptilian treant into something that is slick and serene, with metallic lines dancing above rubbery drums as big piano chords boucle up top. it is joyous and colourful and truly majestic before final track apocalyptic moose takes us back down into a mournful house vibe that echoes chicago with its roughhewn analogue textures and lovestruck chords.

the unrelenting force that is hot creations often acts as a breeding ground for raw talent. this next release does just that with four hot jams from upcoming artists lee walker, pete dorling, neil parkes and greeko. first up, young producer lee walker from middlesbrough makes his debut on hot creations delivering that little ditty, which takes hold with a deeply intoxicating bassline, prominent hi-hats and punchy stabs that build to a frenzied climax. shooting onto the scene in 2015 with his off-the-cuff edit of dj deeons freak like me, which played by the likes of marco carola, dixon and loco dice, soon gained over 1 million hits on youtube and was finally picked up by defected records. having featured on hot summer jams on the label back in 2014, essex dj and producer pete dorling is back with another killer track. manyana drives with a heavy bassline as tribal vocal cuts are played throughout. other releases can be seen on the likes of viva music, resonance productions and nofitstate. also appearing on the same hot summer jams, neil parkes is back on board the label with peil narkes. a swinging bassline sets the groundwork as layers of moody synths roll out over punchy hats. since his first release on metroline limited, neil has spread his wings releasing on labels such as madtech, leftroom limited and underground audio.

over half a year has passed since loz s last outing on brooklyn s razor n tape but he s back on a solo tip with this 4 tracker of slightly deeper and more synth-driven cuts than we ve been used to this year from the man. slap dancer sets the tone with punchy drum & sample hits, easily the most club oriented of the bunch. duplicity sees loz back on that slightly funkier sound we have come to know of recent times, but with a little added dustiness. flavour adds a little extra sprinkling of dust with it s rolling drums and chords - proper chillin basement tackle. be sure to check that b2 cut sunset vista for that slow, machine driven & synthed out acid jam as well.

channeling the spirit of moodymann, rick wilhite and other such detroit house greats, guilhem monin follows up on the promise of his debut for colors last year with this sizzling slice of rough hewn deep house gold where the samples stay locked in the groove and the atmosphere of the room is captured forever on the record. -social music- would surely not sound out of place on kdj, while -i plan to stay a believer- calls upon the warming tones of rick wade et al amidst an irresistible 909 house bump. -vlg- gets a little more sassy with its choppy edit style, and then -people- brings in a fist-pumping riff to hit the sweet spot later in the night.
